Whats good about running is that you can always go back to it. It doesnt care. Take time off. Running waits. Start over. It understands. Yes its frustrating but as you come back and feel everything slowly coming back to you; your legs getting stronger; your cardio improving run by run; your endurance improving and your speed coming back--you begin to feel better. It grows and grows and you feel better and better. That is me. Exactly where I am. Being injured with various injuries for over a year. Injury upon injury. Now starting slowly and building. Like a child with building blocks. Now running with a friend who is training for Chicago Marathon in October. Just trying to keep him company on his long runs. And doing the speed workouts and tempo runs. Trying to keep up. Last night doing a nice long tempo run. Struggling but making it through. Tomorrow a long run. HOW LONG? up to 20. Should be a real challenge. I love it.
